Cover Supervisor

As a Cover Supervisor you will work under the guidance of teaching staff and with an agreed system of supervision, to implement work programmes with individual and groups in and out of the classroom.  This role includes supervision of whole classes during short term absence of teachers.


This role would suit a candidate who is considering entering the teaching profession and would like to gain some classroom experience. Subject to eligiblity crieria we would also consider supporting applicants who wish to gain a teaching qualification via the apprenticship route.


You will need to be:

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Used to working with young people, especially 11-19
  • Adaptable, flexible, confident and calm under pressure
  • Confident with behaviour management skills
  • Well organised
  • Show commitment to professional development
  • Committed to education and teaching

Working hours: 28 hours per week

Working days:   Tuesday to Friday, term time only

Salary:  £12,355 (£19,121 full time equivelant)

Closing date: 11th July 2019
