Literacy Networks - Primary

Job advert

Led by an experienced Primary Teacher and Literacy SLE, the TVTSA are delighted to be offering 6 literacy networks for the academic year of 2018/19.

 

Over the 6 networks, teachers will have the opportunity to explore successful strategies for the teaching of writing and reading. By attending the networks, teachers will also be able to share good practice and resources developed within their own schools.

 

  • Tuesday 23rd October 1:30pm-3:30pm Lets Teach Poetry! Teach poetry creatively and in an engaging way whilst ensuring children have the opportunity to perform poetry.

 

  • Thursday 29th November 1:30-3:30pm Teaching Grammar Using Texts and Poetry. Use quality texts and poetry to teach grammar objectives.

 

  • Tuesday 12th February 1:30-3:30pm Teaching Successful Spelling Strategies and Raising Vocabulary Resources which can be used to bridge the vocabulary gap and raise spelling standards.

 

  • Tuesday 26th March 1:30-3:30pm Writing Moderation Be involved in external moderation during this session and see examples of different levels of writing.

 

  • Tuesday 21st May 1:30-3:30pm Using Technology to Inspire Reading and Writing This session focuses on how you can use Greenscreen, Imovie and more to inspire children to read and write.

 

  • Tuesday 25th June 1:30-3:30pm What Would Mastery in English Look Like?
